SHIFT:
This is 1st shift 7AM - 7PM shift. A-side Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday.
Though if team members want to move to this shift, it would open up the existing team members shift as a possible back fill.
 
This role is on-site.

Job Description
Marathon Petroleum is looking for a network operations center (NOC) support technician for their Midstream OT support team (OTRC). Previous experience within a NOC, and Cisco Routing and Switching experience are required. Experience with Network Monitoring tools like Solar Winds and ITSM/ticketing systems like ServiceNow are also requirements. Staff must possess excellent communication skills as they will work directly with non-technical business clients and field / system / network engineers that work in oil and gas facilities / field offices. Experience with system administration is a plus. The staff must be proactive, self-starting, and able to work with minimum supervision.
 
The OTRC Tier 1 - OT NOC Administrator serves as the first line of defense for Operational Technology (OT) systems, providing real-time monitoring, incident response, and basic troubleshooting. This role ensures system availability and performance while escalating complex issues to Tier 2 or engineering teams. Candidate will understand how to use ticketing systems, understand information displayed in red light/green light dashboards, and follow documented troubleshooting processes. Typical tasks include verifying power to network devices, engaging carriers for circuit support, verifying service is fully restored and escalating to higher tiers as needed. A general understanding of network topologies is required.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Monitoring & Incident Response
• Continuously monitor OT systems (SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and related infrastructure) using established tools
• Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, and incidents within defined SLAs
• Perform initial troubleshooting to resolve common technical issues and minimize downtime
 
System/Network & Application Support
• Provide basic support for OT servers/network and applications, including patching and performance checks
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks to ensure system health
 
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and resolutions
• Update operational documentation and procedures as needed
• Generate routine reports on OT system performance and availability
 
Escalation & Collaboration
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Tier 2 or engineering teams following established protocols
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and enhancements
 
CCNA route / switch experience level

Qualifications
 
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
• Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar environment, preferably with OT systems
• Proficiency with monitoring and alerting tools
• Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
• Familiarity with Windows Server administration is a plus
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Industry certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, ISA/IEC 62443) are a plus
