Description
One of our property and
casualty insurance customers is looking for 2 AWS Cloud Solutions Engineers
(hands on technical) who come from an application development background to
support a large scale multi million multi year D&S Transformation effort
(D&S = Distribution Sales and Services). Must sit onsite in Plano or San
Antonio. Needs strong AWS application cloud design experience with java
microservices and Agentic AI knowledge/experience. There are 25 new
capabilities within the D&S transformation – some work on policy
modernization/claims modernization but a lot more on contact center and virtual
agent, billing bots etc.
They will create high level designs, pocs and be very hands on in the weeds
with the developers. This is not an architect level role although they will
create some design diagrams but more at the tech lead level. The day to day
will be creating pocs and designs with the potential of some roadmaps and
strategic thinking. Ie. They have old systems – do research and collaboration
to understand what they are currently doing and design something better.
They really need someone who can work closely with the development teams, be an
excellent communicator and have solid documentation skills. They will need to
build trust with the development teams and create the right solutions. They
will need to be able to create pocs that take full advantage of AWS services
and capabilities. They are looking for forward thinking reviews, and being able
to analyze systems/applications for opportunities. They are looking to set new
patterns, new designs and create pocs. Being able to look at things in their
environment and say, here is how you can do this differently and do a bake off
and improvement. They will perform code reviews. If given a direction they can
get it done.

1) AWS Cloud Solutions
Engineer (hands on technical lead) who has come from a java development
background (java, microservices, python, Go for serverless) and has agentic AI
knowledge/experience
2) Provided end to end solutioning, design and build application POCs using AWS
services. They will hand it off to an implementation team
3) Excellent documentation and communication with the ability to analyze things
