We had 4 interviews yesterday for 2 roles and the manager passed on all 4.   They did bite very quickly on them.  Need excellent communications skills and experience working with C-Suite executives.   They are passed configuration, this is post go live business process integration and optimization.

Job Title: Sr. Financial SAP Consultant
Onsite Requirement/Remote (Time zone?): Remote
Contract Duration (if long-term/renewable, what is initial contract duration?): 3 Month Initial SOW- will extend every 3 months
Rate: $70/hr W2
 
Background
  • This team oversees all Global Business Services including OTC (order to cash), Finance Operations (AR,AP, Payroll), SAP
  • Advantage has hired one SAP leader in this area since they transitioned to SAP and that’s Dan.  He’s being pulled in a new direction so needs a clone of himself
    • Intermediary between functional and technical-specifically how SAP works and how they think it should work, etc.
  • He’s needing a Sr. SAP Techno-Functional Consultant
    • He’s viewing this as the equivalent of a Director level role- needs strong business acumen.  Someone who can have a conversation w/ the CFO and Developers
    • will not being doing any sort of coding/configuration, but needs to be able to sit and have a conversation with a developer and understand what they are doing
      • Example: does not need to read ABAP, but need to know what you can do with ABAP
  • Modules- AP, AR, General ledger, inventory, logistics, Procurement, purchase orders, reporting (how flow of information to the datasphere works), MDM (specifically MDG)
    • Financial modules are much more important than the supply chain modules
  • What they DON’T WANT- a PM, an AP clerk, a CPA
  • Ideal candidates are open to CTH- will need to notate on submittal if candidates are open to potential conversion down the line
  • Ideal profile- former technical consultant doing implementations of SAP that has gone into the business side- need someone who understands how the business works
  • Where Advantage is in SAP journey
    • Stage 1 go live Jan 2025- USA/North America.  80% of business is NA focused
    • Stage 2 go live April 2025- international 13 countries
  • What they are walking into- not a lot of internal SAP knowledge.  Bit of a forest fire that they’ll need to fight their way out of.  Rule out what is noise and assess what the real problems are
