Workday Payroll Analyst (Prefer Hybrid Phoenix; Remote MST, PST or CST)

LOCATION	Hybrid Phoenix, AZ; REMOTE can work but quarterly travel to Phoenix will be required
DURATION	6+ Months
Pay Rate	$55/hr W2 MAX

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Payroll during implementation and deployment activities.
Lead payroll testing efforts, including system integration testing (SIT), end-to-end testing, regression testing, parallel payroll testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Validate payroll configurations, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and compliance requirements.
Develop and execute detailed test scripts, document results, and manage defect resolution with technical and business teams.
Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and implementation partners to ensure successful payroll processing and system readiness.
Support data validation, payroll reconciliations, cutover activities, and go-live readiness.
Provide recommendations for process improvements and payroll best practices within Workday.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of Workday Payroll experience with multiple full-cycle Workday implementations.
Deep expertise in Workday Payroll configuration, testing methodologies, and payroll operations.
Proven experience leading payroll testing activities for enterprise Workday deployments.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax processing, earnings and deductions, and payroll integrations.
Experience with Workday reporting, troubleshooting, and defect management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
