Abbott is looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to
join their team responsible for cloud and connectivity for their ID Now
application. The ID Now application is a service cloud that connects their
diagnostics point of care systems to show device status, health, push remote
updates and deliver additional system support. The ideal candidate will have
extensive experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS),
Terraform, Helm Charts, scripting and cloud networking, particularly Azure
vNet. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and
secure cloud infrastructure solutions to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high
availability, scalability, and security.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline creation, automation, and management.
• Implement and manage container orchestration using Azure Kubernetes Services
(AKS).
• Develop and maintain Helm Charts for application deployment and management.
• Use Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning
and management of cloud resources.
• Configure and manage Azure Virtual Networks (vNet) and other cloud networking
components.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, cost, and security.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and
deployment of applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in cloud computing and
DevOps.

Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for cloud and

currently covers 1 model and 25K devices, but as Abbott looks to ramp up number
of models and devices supported this will be critical in ensuring the proper
capacity and services are in place to support the build out
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related
field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer or similar role.
• Strong expertise in Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline creation and
management.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and container
orchestration.
• Knowledge of Helm Charts for Kubernetes application management.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash,
PowerShell.
• Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
• In-depth understanding of Azure Virtual Networks (vNet) and cloud networking
principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps
Engineer).
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
• Familiarity with additional DevOps tools and practices.
