Job Description
Senior Big Data / ML Engineer will collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions across full-stack and big data environments. Work closely with developers experienced in machine learning, distributed microservices, and large-scale data systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver solutions using full-stack development tools and modern big data frameworks
Build and support machine learning and distributed data systems
Use Python, Java, Scala, SQL, RDBMS, NoSQL, AWS RDS, Snowflake
Write and review clean, performant, well-tested code
Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and tuning for performance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
1–2 years’ experience in big data technologies and/or application development
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years building data applications and pipelines (Python, SQL)
2+ years experience with AWS (preferred cloud)
3+ years working with distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, MapReduce, etc.)
2+ years of data warehousing (RDS or Snowflake)
3+ years Linux/Unix & shell scripting
2+ years Agile engineering experience
Experience resolving Capital One ETB items and handling vulnerability management
Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Workday) & financial ledger data
Experience with Capital One Bank Tech and/or Commercial Bank groups
