Job Description
This role supports a large mortgage company’s Communication
Platforms organization, which builds and operates enterprise‑grade voice, SMS,
virtual agent, and contact‑center integrations that directly impact customer
experience at scale. The broader organization consists of approximately 25
engineers with frequent collaboration across initiatives.
The Senior Application Developer will join the Natural
Language & Automation (NLA) team, a small, high‑impact group currently
composed of four engineers. This role will focus on designing and building real‑time,
AI‑driven conversational and telephony systems that stream live voice, determine
call intent and disposition, route callers intelligently, and blend human and
virtual agent experiences. This is a full‑stack role with deep involvement in
telephony, conversational AI, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, with full life‑cycle
ownership of production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and
maintain enterprise‑grade, high‑availability applications supporting real‑time
voice and conversational AI use cases
Develop AI‑powered
virtual agents that understand call purpose, determine disposition, and
route or hand off calls appropriately
Stream and process real‑time
voice data with a focus on low latency, resiliency, and scalability
Build internal tools for
prompting strategies, call analytics, virtual agent behavior, and workflow
orchestration
Work across telephony
services, contact‑center platforms, Zendesk integrations, SMS, and
conversational workflows
Collaborate closely with
product, analytics, and engineering teams
Own services end‑to‑end,
including architecture, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and
production support
Participate in DevOps
responsibilities, including operating services on AWS EKS (Kubernetes)
Troubleshoot and resolve
high‑impact production issues in a calm, methodical manner
Contribute to a
collaborative, high‑standards engineering culture
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 3+
years of equivalent professional experience
Strong experience
building and maintaining production‑grade distributed applications
Strong backend
development and API design experience (Golang preferred; Python heavily
used)
Experience with cloud
services, particularly AWS
Experience building or
operating scalable systems using Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of
DevOps and CI/CD best practices
Required Experience
