Role: VMware ESXi Engineer

Client: Automobile/Tech

Duration: 6-12 Months Contract+

Location: Fremont, CA- 5 days onsite per week

Pay Rate: $70/hr on W2 Max

Work Authorization: Open to all

Day to Day duties:

Own VMware ESXi hypervisor platform
Provision, support, and lifecycle-manage virtual machines
Handle:
- Resource changes (CPU/memory/disk)
- Performance troubleshooting
- Platform health, upgrades, expansion
Understand and manage impact of:
- Network layer
- Host / physical infrastructure
- Application performance
Participate in on-call rotation (after ramp-up)
Automate repetitive infra tasks (PowerShell / CLI)
Follow strict processes; no shortcuts
Serve as single point of contact during on-call windows

TOP Requirements:

5–6+ years working with ESXi
Deep, hands‑on VMware ESXi expertise
- “The candidate should know in and out of VMware”
- Must be the primary hypervisor they work on today
Recent and continuous VMware experience
- 5–6+ years working with ESXi
- No long gaps or “used it years ago”
Enterprise / large‑scale environment experience
- Experience supporting large, complex infrastructure
- Comfortable supporting critical platforms with high impact
Full‑stack infrastructure understanding (infra, not dev)
- Hypervisor layer
- Networking layer
- Host / physical infrastructure
- How infra impacts application performance
Automation mindset
- PowerShell is a must
- CLI usage
- Mindset of automating repetitive work
  “Do it once, do it twice, third time you should automate it”
