Full
stack engineer - Java, Python, Agular & AWS.
Location: Hybrid Mclean, Virginia Pay Rate: 70/hr on C2C Contract Length: Starting at 6mo w/ potential to extend Role and
Responsibilities
This is for a Full-Stack Engineer position, with a
primary focus on the back end (70%) and a secondary on the front
end (30%). The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in Java
(60%) and Python (40%). On the front end, they will be using Angular.
The role does not require any data engineering (DE) skills.
The team needs a highly reliable engineer who not only has
strong technical skills but also a high level of engagement and ownership.
They should be able to get their work done on time and be an independent
contributor, offering support to others without being overly dependent on
them.
Day-to-Day
Interactions
The engineer will work most closely with the engineering lead
and senior managers, as well as their product counterpart.
Business Impact
The application supports counterparty risk management. It
provides users with data on who they are trading with to help them hedge
risk, particularly with derivatives. The system helps manage risk exposures
by setting thresholds; for example, a large institution like Bank of America
would have a specific risk threshold.
Location
There is a preference for candidates who can come into the
McLean office a couple of days a week. However, the hiring manager is open to
a remote arrangement for a truly exceptional and trustworthy candidate with prior Capital One.
