This person is an experienced Salesforce expert who builds, customizes, and connects Salesforce to other systems so sales and customer service teams can do their jobs efficiently.
  • Create and customize Salesforce features (screens, automations, logic, and data) using code and built-in tools
  • Make Salesforce work with other systems by connecting it through APIs and integrations
  • Support Sales and Customer Service teams by improving how leads, opportunities, cases, and customer data are managed
  • Fix issues and keep Salesforce running smoothly
  • Work closely with business and technical teams to turn business needs into working Salesforce solutions
  • Guide best practices and help junior team members
 
 
This role must have strong hands-on experience with:
  • Apex + LWC
  • Flows & automation
  • Sales Cloud & Service Cloud
  • API integrations + middleware
  • Git + CI/CD tools (Copado/Gearset)
  • Data migration tools
Core Salesforce Tools (Must-Have)
  • Salesforce Platform – main system they build on
  • Apex – Salesforce’s programming language (business logic, triggers, batch jobs)
  • SOQL / SOSL – query languages to pull data from Salesforce
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC) – modern UI components for Salesforce screens
  • Flows – point-and-click automation tool (very important)
  • Validation Rules & Approval Processes – enforcing business rules
 
Salesforce Clouds (Must-Have)
  • Sales Cloud – Leads, Accounts, Opportunities, Forecasting
  • Service Cloud – Cases, Omni-Channel, Knowledge, Entitlements
  • Experience Cloud – customer/partner portals
 
Integration & API Tools (Must-Have)
  • REST & SOAP APIs – connecting Salesforce to other systems
  • Middleware tools (at least one):
    • MuleSoft
    • Dell Boomi
    • Informatica
  • Platform Events / Webhooks – real-time data exchange
 
Development & Deployment Tools (Must-Have)
  • VS Code + Salesforce Extensions – main development environment
  • Git – version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • CI/CD tools:
    • Copado or Gearset (very common in Salesforce teams)
 
Data & Migration Tools (Must-Have)
  • Data Loader – bulk data import/export
  • Data Import Wizard – basic data loads
  • ETL tools – for large or complex migrations
 
Testing & Quality Tools
  • Salesforce Debug Logs – troubleshooting issues
  • Apex Test Classes – required for deployments
  • Code Review tools – often built into Git platforms
 
Agile & Collaboration Tools
  • Jira – backlog, sprint tracking
  • Confluence – documentation
