1.) 7+ years of enterprise Cisco WAN/LAN configuration and engineering within routing & switching in a global environment (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol)

3.) Firewall Experience (managing day to day firewall requests, upgrades and policy updates; Checkpoint or Palo Alto preferred)

Job Description:

Abbott is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to support multiple global LAN/WAN initiatives and provide L3 support for their global network which spans 130+ countries and 240+ sites. The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for assisting with engineering and troubleshooting activities across Abbott's LAN/WAN. The Sr. Network Engineer will assist on day-to-day engineering activities, including: switching, routing, firewall rule management, lifecycle refreshes, wireless configuration and upgrades and NAC deployment. Abbott's environment consists of mainly Cisco R&S, Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco Viptela for SD-WAN. Candidates should have extensive route / switch experience configuring and supporting enterprise WAN environments. Experience with Firewall (Palo Alto or Checkpoint) and SD-WAN is a plus. Engineer should have strong experience with the Cisco Catalyst 9000 series for switches, APs and wireless controllers. Familiarity using Cisco IOS XE is desired. Additionally, as part of various ongoing projects there will be need to manage firewall requests, upgrades and policy updates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

This will be working across a variety of design, engineering and support functions. Sr. Network Engineers should have the ability and willingness to work across all aspects from architecture to L3 support in a hands-on capacity. Familiarity with DNA Center, Prime or Cisco Catalyst Center is preferred. Experience with ServiceNow, Logic Monitor preferred. Netbrain experience is a plus, but can be trained.
