This DBA will be responsible for supporting on-premises and Azure operations
in addition to helping with solar winds and to help reduce noise around SQL
monitoring. In addition, this resource will help POC SQL
2025.
Perform SQL database
administration tasks:
·Monitoring and tuning all SQL databases to ensure
availability
·Monitoring production databases and data processing jobs
·Implementing and administering database replication
·Troubleshooting performance issues relating to indexes,
fine-tuning queries and stored procedures
·Coordinating database checkpoint frequencies, archive
logging, resource usage with programmers and system Administrators
·Creating capacity planning forecast
·Establishing and maintaining custom-tailored backup/restore
procedures and disaster recovery plans for Production Servers.
·Enhancing system availability
·24 X 7 Production support
·Serve as a point of escalation
Provide support to
Application Development Groups in the following ways:
On-call
rotation every third week M-F
Environment requires someone who is proactive, issue resolution oriented, can
tackle project and a lot of ticket work, support on-call rotation and the fact
the team is small, can\'t hide behind anyone. There is an accountability
culture in place requiring work to be done when tasked…… This person will be supporting
their 24/7 Operations team including SQL 2019
