We are looking for CNC Machinist Rockstar, for our weekday shift operation at our Des Moines, IA facility. This is a full-time position, 5:30am -4:00pm Monday-Thursday. This means extended weekends off, Friday-Sunday!

Duties:
  • Perform Set Ups and operation on our Multitask machines.
  • Ability to use forethought and best machining practices to achieve optimal performance results within the allocated timeframe.
  • Experience with tight tolerance aerospace / defense and NPI machining with the ability to hold tolerances of +/- .0002.”
  • Must be able to maintain a 90% efficiency rate during set-up/operation, and scrap rate of less than 1%.
  • Read and follow job orders, set-up sheet and work instructions and provide feedback to improve processes.
  • Keep a positive mindset, even in challenging moments
  • Measure and document as required inspection data to assure part compliance, utilizing mechanical methods, and automated CMMs.
  • Read and interpret blueprint dimensions, symbols, and notes.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain work area using 5s practices.
  • Communicate with Engineering on issues, needs, and improvements.
  • Build Fixtures to drawing requirements.
  • Set up, Prove-out and optimize processes to minimize cycle-time and increase probability of success while communicating and working with other departments i.e.) Sales, Engineering, Quality.
  • Train Machine Operators if/when job is turned over to production.
  • Ability to work independently and identify issues, and problem solve in a productive timeframe.
  • Maintains focus on process improvement and reduction of cycle times while maintaining quality.
Qualifications/skills:
  • 7+ or more years (preferred) setting up and operating CNC 3, 4, & 5 axis mills, turning centers and multi-axis machines
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of machine and controller functions
  • Excellent knowledge of machine tolerances
  • Commanding knowledge of GD&T and applications
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Advanced mathematical and geometrical knowledge
  • Good communicator, ability to listen, ask questions, and provide solutions
  • Ability to work extra hours when needed
  • Self-Motivated
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Familiarity with AS9100 Standards
  • High school diploma / GED
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk and reach. The ability to lift products and supplies, up to 40 pounds. May be subject to cutting fluids, lubricants, metal chips and moderate noises.
