  • Office is based in Grand Rapids, MI
 
This is a senior-level test automation role focused on mobile app testing (React Native) and headless CMS platforms (like Payload or Contentful). The person will not be embedded in a single agile team, but will work across multiple teams to:
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing efforts
  • Coach developers on writing automated tests
  • Build and maintain shared automation tools
  • Act as a quality champion across the organization
 
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Strategy & Coaching
  • Mentor developers on automation best practices
  • Help teams write better acceptance criteria
  • Build tools to make automation easier for devs
2. End-to-End Testing
  • Create test plans for features that span multiple teams
  • Write automated tests for mobile apps and CMS workflows
  • Do exploratory testing and validate user experience
  • Approve releases for production
3. Automation Framework Ownership
  • Improve shared test libraries and tools
  • Set up dynamic test data, API mocks, and CMS validation
  • Ensure automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines
 
Skills & Experience Needed
  • 3+ years in software development, 5+ years in test automation
  • Strong React Native development/testing experience
  • Experience with Payload CMS, Contentful, or similar
  • Proficient in automation tools: Playwright, Detox, Maestro
  • Programming languages: TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Java, C#, Python
  • Familiar with GitHub, CI/CD, and Agile/SAFe
  • Strong communication and ability to influence stakeholders
 
  • Leadership: You’ll guide developers and influence quality practices across teams.
  • Technical Depth: You’re expected to be hands-on with automation and also architect solutions.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: You’ll work at the program level, not just within one team.
  • Enablement Role: You’ll help developers write better tests by building tools and frameworks.
Adaptability: You’ll need to handle ambiguity and fast-changing tech environments.
