Apply subsurface Technical DM principles to
support studies in Oil and Gas Exploration and Field Development in the
following specialty areas:
·Geological Data - well and reservoir modeling
data such as well headers, porosity, permeability, reservoir, data derived from
geochemical samples, and metadata such as well names, depths and well
coordinates. Typical stores for well data are Corporate Data Store for corporate
data and Petrel for project data.
·Petrophysical Data - well logs and
Petrophysical analysis. Data types include wireline, MWD, borehole, sonic and
core data. Typical data stores are Recall and Petrel.
·Geophysical Data - geophysical data such as
seismic traces (2D and 3d), seismic navigation data and potential field data.
As Technical Data Management Consultant,
you’ll support and deliver efficient and sustainable technical data management
and associated workflows through the full project data lifecycle from project
framing and setup, through project execution to project close-out, including
results publishing and assurance. This will require you to identify, plan and
contribute to the delivery of improvements associated with subsurface
databases, software and tools. Having a demonstrable ability to balance
reactive with pro-active thinking is essential.
·The role requires strong subsurface business
domain knowledge coupled with Technical Information & Data Management (TD)
Technical Data knowledge with a demonstrable passion for Continuous
Improvement.
·The position requires strong understanding of
subsurface business processes and knowledge of the complete Project Data and
Information Lifecycle in subsurface projects. Expertise in data flow is also
required, including how subsurface data enters the project space, is
synchronized between various applications and project stores used in the
workflow and how the “final” or “results” are published back to the corporate
environment.
You’ll be expected to collaborate across
boundaries and stakeholders to ensure business delivery of data as an asset.
Requirements:
·Relevant degree in a subsurface discipline
(e.g., Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering) and/or extensive experience
in TD (Technical Data) supporting subsurface assets.
·Experience with TD in a team environment with
minimum 5 years industry experience
·Demonstrable experience in the use and
development of common TD workflows, practices, standards & tools including
but not limited to core applications such as Petrel, Techlog, OpenWorks,
OpenSpirit, Recall.
·Analytical ability combined with pragmatic
approach to solving problems with exposure to CI (Continuous Improvement) and
DQ (Data Quality) to improve TD delivery & value
·Proven experience of having worked in the
subsurface business and acquired domain knowledge in any or more of the
following areas: Exploration, Development, CCUS, Wells, WRFM (Well, Reservoir
& Facilities Management). Familiar with IM (Information Management)
·Adaptability to changing data and project
demands and exposure to process change management
·Readiness to champion all issues related to
data security and understanding of associated Entitlements & Obligations
and Data Security & Restrictions
·Confident and effective communication with
demonstrable influencing skills
Work requires a comprehensive understanding
and capability to support exploration and production asset teams, with primary
emphasis on project data management involving:
·Well Header Data Management: To ensure the
basic Well Information is in place and complies with standards. All COMPANY
wells need to be loaded to the Corporate DataStore with the correct well header
information and as per defined work instructions. Procedures also exist for
non-Shell wells – well data must be released as per Governmental Obligations.
·Corporate Well Data Loading for Petrophysics,
Geoscience & Geology Mainly well picks, stratigraphy, log curves are stored
in proper format and accessible from corporate datastores.
·Follow the well log data route for corporate
interpretation datasets to successful publishing in Corporate Databases and
distributing this data to other Shell project data stores and application
environment (e.g. OpenWorks, Techlog).
·Publish to prevent loss of data and enable
the ability to reproduce or audit results. Data is handled and processed in
line with the applicable data standards to ensure data quality and process
safety compliance. Final and corporate Petrophysical (PP) interpretations must
be stored in the Corporate Data Store (Recall) to complete the evaluation cycle.
·Data Quality Monitoring & Improvements:
To help with Information Quality Metrics (IQM) application and with data
quality improvement projects. Ensure a transparent, standardized, practical,
and scalable approach to data quality management that reflects business
priorities and objectives.
·Seismic Data Management Services: This covers
all types of seismic data, including but not limited to 2D, 3D, and 4D, field,
pre-stack, post-stack and workstation data. The data types cover the entire
lifecycle from acquisition to processing, interpretation, archiving and
distribution.
·The data types include trace data, navigation
data, interpretation results, workstation data, velocity data, VSP, operational
metadata, physical and digital archives (HSM & Exploration Archives)
