Job Summary:
This Senior Data Engineer role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines that power an Enterprise Data Warehouse and analytics program for Medicaid and federal reporting. You will work extensively with ETL tools, Python, and modern cloud technologies to support large, complex healthcare datasets in a regulated, audit-sensitive environment. The position is highly delivery-focused and requires close collaboration with architects, analysts, QA, project managers, subject matter experts, developers, and BI/reporting teams across both legacy and cloud-based platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Informatica PowerCenter, and Python-based frameworks.
  • Build and optimize scalable data processing solutions using Python, Spark, and Databricks to support high-volume healthcare data workloads.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures across relational platforms such as Teradata, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Apply data engineering best practices to ensure performance, reliability, reusability, and security of data pipelines and solutions.
  • Support Medicaid analytics and federal reporting initiatives, including T-MSIS, PERM, MARS, and Quality of Care reporting.
  • Develop robust data validation, reconciliation, and audit-traceable data pipelines to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts, QA, and reporting/BI teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Participate in cloud migration and modernization initiatives within Azure-based architectures, including transitioning legacy workloads to modern platforms.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality, well-documented code across data engineering solutions.
  • Use source control and CI/CD processes with Azure DevOps and GitHub to manage deployments and promote automation in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with architecture, BI, QA, and business teams to align data engineering solutions with enterprise standards and project objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data quality frameworks, reconciliation processes, and audit support across the data platform.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience designing or consuming REST APIs within data platforms for integration and data exchange.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash for automation and orchestration of data workflows.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, reconciliation processes, and audit support in regulated environments.
  • Experience with source control and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
